How to update your display drivers. You may have just purchased your system or graphics card, but if you have not updated your display drivers then it is likely the cause of issues you are experiencing with your Portrait Displays software. Display drivers are updated frequently and as a result, our testing must be done with current display drivers. All of our software works closely with your systems display drivers. Updating the display drivers will resolve most issues. How to determine your Display Adapter: NOTE:(Your Display Adapter is also known as your Graphics Card or Graphics Chipset.) In order to update your display drivers you must first know what type of display adapter is installed in your system. To determine your display adapter in your system, do the following:
NOTE: Many laptops and some newer compact computers based on the same display adapters as those found in laptops cannot use drivers found on the manufacturer’s website. In these cases is it necessary for you to go to the computer system manufacturer and download the current driver they have for the computer system. Once you have installed the new display driver and it is working correctly, you should then download and install the current version of your Portrait Displays software. To update your Portrait Displays software, simply click on the icon in the system tray and choose the Check For Update option. This will take you to the proper page on our website and tell you if your software is current. Should you still encounter issues with your Portrait Displays software, click on the Technical Support link from within the Portrait Displays software. This will gather data about your systems configuration and allow you to tell us about the problem. If you are unable to do this, you can manually fill out the Technical Support Request Form and manually submit the system information. |
