Today's computer displays are very diverse. They vary by price, quality, size and underlying display technology. But one thing that remains constant to all displays is that optimum performance can only be achieved through proper display set-up and adjustment. In this sense, the most relevant tuning is accomplished by the user of the display rather than by factory default settings. Only the user can account for personal, environmental, and technology effects such as ambient light, placement, host graphics controller, time, and subjective quality based on their own vision. Unfortunately, the manual controls available to modify the characteristics of a display often prove to be intimidating and difficult to use.
In most cases even simple adjustments to Brightness, Contrast, or Geometry require the user to navigate multi-level, on-screen displays (OSD) composed of hard to recognize symbols. Adjusting the display with little guidance given to help the user arrive at a correct setting and without precise instructions can result in improper setup. This translates into poor performance from a display.
Display Tune is the perfect software utility to initially set-up and adjust
your display to achieve its optimum performance. All adjustments are made
through a simple graphical user interface and the user is guided, step-by-step,
through the entire initial tuning process. The profile of each user can
be saved, providing an easy way to select display characteristics in a
multi-user environment, or having a single user have multiple profiles
defined based on content and ambient lighting. Display Tune also provides
a sophisticated, multi-point color calibration necessary to comply with
the sRGB standard. The result is an intuitive way to generate accurate
display color for images on the web, as well as digital content.
